The Matterhorn

Gornergrat glacier railway

A cogwheel railway that climbs from Zermatt to 3,089 m at Gornergrat, opening up a 360° panorama of 29 peaks above 4,000 m and the vast Gorner Glacier. It’s one of the great rail journeys of the Alps.

Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car

Europe’s highest cable-car station at 3,883 m, with a glacier palace of ice sculptures and tunnels, plus a viewing platform facing the Matterhorn’s south face. Snow and skiing are possible here even in summer.
